Gel for external use Troxerutin DS contains the flavonoid troxerutin, which is used in the treatment of venous diseases. It has venotonic and angioprotective, as well as anti-inflammatory, decongestant and antioxidant effects. It is a generic in the active substance of drugs known under the trade name Troxevasin.
Active ingredient: troxerutin - 2.0 g Excipients: carbomer -0.6 g, trolamine - 0.7 g, disodium edetate - 0.05 g, benzalkonium chloride - 0.1 g, water - 96.55 g.
Indications / Application Notes
- pain and swelling associated with chronic venous insufficiency; - a feeling of heaviness and pain in the legs, swelling of the ankles; - fatigue, swelling, cramps, paresthesias; - acute superficial thrombophlebitis and periphlebitis; - varicose dermatitis; - pain and swelling of a traumatic nature (including with damage to ligaments, sprains or bruises of muscles).
Hypersensitivity to troxerutin or any auxiliary substance of the drug; pregnancy (I trimester). Violation of the integrity of the skin.
Mode of application
Gel is applied externally. Gel is applied in the morning and in the evening to the affected area with the help of the lungs. massaging movements, from the bottom up until it is completely absorbed into the skin. If for any reason the use of the drug is missed, the patient can apply it at any time, observing the interval between two sessions treatment for at least 10-12 hours. If necessary, gel can be applied under bandages or elastic stockings. The course of treatment is from 2 weeks to 1 to 2 months. With a relapse of the disease, the course is treatment can be repeated 2-3 times a year.
Side effects
In rare cases, redness, itching, rash is observed. These symptoms quickly disappear after discontinuation of treatment.
Special instructions
Avoid getting the gel on open wounds, mucous membranes, eyes! Chronic venous insufficiency recommended use in both the initial and late stages of the disease. At conditions characterized by increased vascular permeability (in including with scarlet fever, flu, measles, allergic reactions), used in combination with ascorbic acid to enhance its effect.
Release form
Gel for external use 2%. 40 g in aluminum tubes, with an internal varnish coating, lithographed outer surface, membrane and sealing ring, with polyethylene screw cap. Each tube together with instructions for use are placed in a cardboard box.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 °С. Keep out of the reach of children.
